Flop The Nuts - Poker Terms

This is one of the stranger and more amusing sounding terms in poker but is in fact commonly used, you may often hear this while watching televised poker. The flop is the first three of the community cards dealt and the nuts means the best possible hand given what cards have been dealt so far. Therefore it is possible to “flop the nuts” by making the best hand available on the flop. For example you could have the hand 89 on a 567 flop giving you the nut straight, there is no better hand possible with those cards on the flop.
