Poker Terms - Under The Gun
Like the majority of the terms in poker, the phrase under the gun is far from self explanatory but is much simpler and straight forward than it sounds. Under the gun or as it’s commonly referred to online UTG, simply means the position directly to the left of the big blind. The player who is sat in this position is the first to act pre-flop and it’s therefore not a favourable place to play from, you should generally only play strong hands from here.
